About The Company
The company is a growing organization seeking its first dedicated HR leader to establish a strong human resources foundation and support continued organizational growth. The Human Resources Manager will work closely with executive and department leadership to develop consistent people practices, strengthen communication and accountability, and align HR initiatives with overall business goals.
Responsibilities
- Build and establish the company's foundational HR policies, procedures, systems, and workflows.
- Partner with executive and department leadership on workforce planning, organizational development, employee needs, and people-related business decisions.
- Establish consistent HR practices, expectations, communication channels, and accountability across the organization.
- Develop and maintain the employee handbook, HR policies, and documentation while supporting compliance with applicable employment requirements.
- Create a professional and consistent employee experience, including recruiting, onboarding, employee development, performance management, and offboarding.
- Partner with managers to provide guidance on employee relations, performance issues, coaching, communication, and workplace concerns.
- Manage the PEO relationship, including audit or review of payroll, benefits, compliance, and employee support.
- Establish and optimize HR systems, technology, records, reporting, and processes.
- Develop foundational programs for employee engagement, retention, performance, and professional development.
- Identify opportunities to improve organizational effectiveness, streamline processes, and strengthen the overall employee experience.
- Develop the HR function and build a team as organizational needs and growth warrant.
Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably as an HR Manager, HR Business Partner, or Senior HR Generalist.
- Proven experience building or significantly improving HR processes, systems, or infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, compliance, recruiting, benefits, and performance management.
- Experience working with a PEO, payroll provider, benefits broker, or other external HR partners.
- Experience implementing or improving HRIS and HR technology.
- Strong business judgment and the ability to effectively partner with executive and department leadership.
- Excellent communication, coaching, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and bring structure to ambiguity.
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or a related field preferred.
- SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certification preferred.
