We are seeking a Human Resource Generalist to join our creative and energetic team dedicated to delivering the best customer service experience every day.
About the role
The HR Generalist handles a variety of HR functions, including administrative responsibilities such as conducting new hire orientations, reviewing company policies and benefits information, and submitting and following up on commercial general liability, workers’ compensation, and automobile liability insurance claims with insurance carriers. We are seeking a highly efficient, organized, and approachable team member.
Responsibilities
- Supports the Human Resources Department.
- Gather and process pre-hire paperwork, background checks, and MVR checks.
- Conduct new hire orientations, process all onboarding paperwork, and review company policies and benefits information.
- Work with managers on disciplinary, attendance, and performance issues to ensure compliance with company policies and practices.
- Participate in benefits administration and enrollment for new employees and during benefits open enrollment for existing employees.
- Submit, follow up, and monitor workers’ compensation claims.
- Support and coordinate company-wide recognition programs, team-building activities, and company-sponsored sports events.
- Other duties as assigned within the Human Resources Department.
Requirements
- 2+ years of Human Resources experience.
- Basic knowledge of labor laws, compliance, and regulations.
- Understanding of workers’ compensation insurance.
- High initiative, integrity, strong work ethic, and good communication skills.
- Proven ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Solid organizational and time-management capabilities.
- Effective oral and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience with payroll-related compliance and reporting.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).
- Earned a high school diploma or GED.
- Experience with UKG Pro is a plus but not required.
