Responsibilities
- Aids in recruiting, screening, interviewing, and conducting background checks for hourly and salaried applicants.
- Supports the Human Resources Manager in planning and presenting orientation programs for new employees.
- Maintains and updates computerized personnel databases, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Collaborates with the Human Resources Department to update policies and procedures affecting both hourly and salaried employees.
- Manages employee personnel transactions, such as layoffs, recalls, and permanent transfers.
- Administers the benefits program, handling employee inquiries, problem resolution, and data compilation.
- Monitors the performance of the Receptionist and HR Specialist.
- Coordinates FMLA/FLA leaves for all employees.
- Coordinates monthly reports for the Human Resources Department.
- Assists in EEO1/Vets 100 reporting, AAP compliance, EEOC compliance, and immigration compliance.
- Assists in the investigation and discharge process.
- Coordinates special events for employees and their families.
- Has the authority to stop production in the event of a quality or safety issue.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years in a similar position.
- Sound working knowledge of personnel systems.
- Leadership abilities and the ability to provide direction effectively.
- Experience with Kronos, Access, Lotus Notes, and PeopleSoft.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
