Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Generalist to join our team at our Buffalo headquarters reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager. The HR Generalist will be responsible for a variety of human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits and payroll administration, compliance, and training and development. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Aid in the recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and onboarding new hires.
• Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with labor laws and company standards.
• Support performance management processes, including goal setting, performance appraisals, and career development initiatives.
• Assist with administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR documentation in compliance with legal and company requirements.
• Coordinate and facilitate training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
• Conduct investigations related to workplace issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Stay updated with employment laws and regulations to ensure organizational compliance.
• Aid in payroll processing and ensure accuracy in employee compensation and benefits.
• Promote a positive workplace culture by organizing employee engagement activities and initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred, Associates degree required.
• HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
• At least 4 years of experience in Human Resources preferred.
• Strong understanding of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems (preferably UKG Ready) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position is primarily performed in an office setting and involves extended periods of sitting, working at a computer, and communicating via phone and email, with or without reasonable accommodation. The role may require occasional standing, walking, and light lifting (e.g., files or office materials up to approximately 10–20 pounds), with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic work environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Compensation

$60,000 – $70,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
