About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to support a multi-state workforce in a fast-paced environment. This role will focus heavily on employee relations, labor law compliance, leave administration, benefits, policy interpretation, and HR risk management. The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional who is confident navigating complex employee issues and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HR resource for employees and managers regarding workplace issues, policy interpretation, and employee concerns.
- Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, corrective actions, conflict resolution, and performance-related issues.
- Provide guidance on federal, state, and local labor laws, ensuring compliance across multiple states.
- Administer and track FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other leave programs.
- Support unemployment claims, workers' compensation cases, and related documentation.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, and open enrollment support.
- Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, procedures, and HR documentation.
- Conduct internal investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions.
- Assist leadership with performance management, employee retention, and workplace culture initiatives.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records and HRIS data.
- Monitor regulatory changes and recommend updates to company policies and practices.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of recent HR Generalist experience required.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEOC, and wage and hour regulations.
- Experience supporting a multi-state employee population.
- Proven employee relations experience, including workplace investigations and conflict resolution.
- Benefits administration experience required.
- Experience managing leave programs, workers' compensation, and unemployment claims.
- Strong understanding of HR compliance, policy development, and risk mitigation.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar certification is a plus.
