Job Responsibilities
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Manages and supports full-cycle recruitment for open positions, including job postings, applicant screening, interviewing, and facilitating hiring decisions.
- Conducts or coordinates background checks, employment eligibility verifications, and other pre-employment requirements in compliance with applicable laws.
- Affords support in onboarding new employees, including coordinating orientation, preparing onboarding materials, and ensuring completion of necessary documentation to ensure successful integration of new employees.
- Supports offboarding processes.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments, including safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, certifications, and aptitude exams.
- Sustains accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of employee records in the HRIS and related systems.
- Responds to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors; escalates complex or sensitive matters to HR leadership as appropriate.
- Provides guidance and support to employees on employee relations matters, workplace issues, and policy interpretation.
- Participates in employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations, ensuring documentation and processes align with company policy and legal requirements.
- Supports dispute resolution and workplace investigations in collaboration with HR leadership.
- Contributes to the improvement of HR processes, programs, and employee experience initiatives.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, with exposure to recruitment, employee relations, and HR compliance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, coaching, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Prowess in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to make sound judgments and solve problems.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Maintains current knowledge of HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Experience using AI tools.
- Proficiency with, or ability to quickly learn, the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.
