Responsibilities
- Respond to employee and manager inquiries on HR policies, procedures, and general workplace questions with timely and thorough support.
- Maintain and update employee handbook content to reflect current policies, practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with leadership to address employee relations concerns, conduct follow-up as needed, and help resolve workplace issues fairly and consistently.
- Prepare and coordinate separation documentation, including release agreements and related offboarding materials, while maintaining confidentiality.
- Support compensation compliance activities, including tracking minimum salary requirements and assisting with state-based pay updates.
- Administer training and development programs, including behavioral assessment tools and web-based learning initiatives for compliance and performance management.
- Oversee background screening processes, including audit reviews, billing reconciliation, and related documentation controls.
- Monitor HR compliance records and recurring audits such as quarterly reviews, covered employer tracking, labor law posting upkeep, and I-9 expiration follow-up.
- Assist with workers’ compensation administration, reporting activities, and maintenance of HR codes, reporting logs, and employer records.
- Provide support for HR systems and hiring workflow tools, including applicant tracking and other web-based platforms used by the department.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a human resources generalist or similar HR support role.
- Hands-on experience managing employee relations matters with professionalism and sound judgment.
- Working knowledge of FMLA and other employment-related compliance requirements.
- Ability to interpret HR policies and communicate guidance clearly to employees and managers.
- Experience handling sensitive records, audits, and documentation with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and recurring deadlines.
- Proficiency with web-based HR systems, reporting tools, and standard business software applications.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Additional certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR are preferred but not required.
