Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible HR presence on the facility floor by regularly engaging with employees and remaining available to address questions and concerns
- Process the full-cycle recruiting efforts for the Opa-Locka facility
- Conduct new hire orientation and support managers throughout the onboarding process to ensure a smooth and welcoming employee experience
- Support payroll administration by ensuring timecards and PTO requests are reviewed and approved accurately and on time
- Support the administration of employee benefits programs, including assisting during open enrollment and responding to employee questions
- Plan and execute wellness and employee engagement initiatives for the Florida office, including developing program plans, managing budgets, partnering with vendors and internal teams, and ensuring successful implementation of activities and events
- Support managers and HR leadership in addressing employee performance and conduct issues, including preparing documentation and participating in meetings
- Coach and consult with managers and employees on employee relations matters, including assessing issues, recommending next steps, and drafting employee communications and corrective documentation as needed
- Support the implementation and communication of HR policies and assist with policy updates as needed
- Maintain employees files and I-9 documentation and support employment eligibility compliance activities in partnership with HR leadership
- Provide translation support from English to Spanish for HR presentations and employee communications to promote clear and inclusive messaging
- Cook up and deliver health and safety training
- Manage the offboarding process, including conducting exit interviews and supporting a smooth separation experience
Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish is required, both verbally and in writing
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and partnerships and meet the needs of internal customers
- Ability to provide day-to-day guidance and support to employees and managers
- Ability to effectively influence others
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in problem-solving and task execution
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality
- Knowledge of state and federal labor laws and applicable regulations
- Knowledge of and experience with OSHA, ADA, FMLA, Paid Family Leave, disability, and Workers’ Compensation
- Foundational understanding of payroll and benefits
- Experience supporting the talent acquisition process, performance management, employee relations, including investigations, and partnering with managers
- Experience administering leaves of absence
- Experience working with an HRIS, preferably ADP Workforce Now
