Purpose of Position

Our Human Resources leaders care deeply about the employee experience and support FSI’s mission to prepare aviation professionals around the world to save lives through exceptional training experiences. The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for providing HR administrative support to the HR Leadership Team. Partners with HRBP and Sr. HRBP to provide consultative business partnership to specific FSI business functions or learning centers to help develop and execute HR strategies that foster organizational effectiveness. This individual manages multiple priorities and must thrive in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment while effectively working through ambiguity.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains general knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees to reduce legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance, partnering with HR Leader.
  • Under the guidance of HR Leadership, conducts or supports low-risk investigations, including overview of situation, action plan, interviews with teammates, summarization, discussion with management, recommendation, and implementation of next steps.
  • Assists HRBP and/or Senior HRBP with the creation and implementation of programs to promote teammate engagement, satisfaction, and retention, such as stay interviews and monthly/quarterly roundtable/feedback sessions.
  • Coordinates and participates in employment and recruiting activities (for instructors and CS staff) with the Corporate Talent Acquisition organization.
  • Manages out-processing, exit interviews, and retirement processes.
  • Handles new hire orientation (in some locations, Operations Assistants perform this task).
  • Completes injury reporting close-out.
  • Supports employee accommodation requests for assigned centers.
  • Manages employee transfer eligibility and bonus tracker (e.g., transfers between legal entities, good standing).
  • Ensures company policies are administered fairly and consistently for compliance, internal equity, and application.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Light travel may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field, or a combination of education and work experience equivalent to the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • PHR/SPHR accreditation or similar HR professional qualification preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment.
  • Effective communication and consultative partnership with business functions.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements related to employee management and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with employee investigations, engagement programs, and recruiting activities.

This position may require access to export-controlled technology or services subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
