This role serves as a key member of the Human Resources team, acting as the first point of contact for employee and management HR-related inquiries. The HR Generalist supports a wide range of human resources functions in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee and external partner HR inquiries.
- Support recruiting activities, including job postings, candidate coordination, interview scheduling, and onboarding.
- Administer employee benefits programs and assist with employee questions regarding benefits and compensation.
- Maintain employee records and HR documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Assist with employee relations matters, including investigations, performance management support, and conflict resolution.
- Coordinate training and development initiatives, employee orientations, and compliance training programs.
- Support affirmative action and equal employment opportunity (EEO) initiatives and reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and employment regulations.
- Assist with policy development, implementation, and communication across the organization.
- Generate HR reports, metrics, and documentation to support business needs and decision-making.
- Partner with managers and leadership to support workforce planning and organizational initiatives.
- Participate in special HR projects and continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of Human Resources experience in a generalist capacity.
- Knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting multiple HR functions, including employee relations, recruitment, benefits, and HR administration.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
- PHR (Professional in Human Resources) Certification.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Certification.
- Experience supporting manufacturing or multi-site operations.
- Knowledge of payroll and compensation administration.
Work Environment
- Fully onsite, Monday through Friday.
- Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch break.
- Initial training will take place in Chicago during the first week of employment.
- Travel to Chicago required every two months during the first year (2-3 days per visit); quarterly thereafter.
- Role responsibilities will be divided between: 60% HR support for Prima Power Laserdyne and 40% HR support for Prima Power North America.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $75,000.00 - $82,000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
