Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Field Human Resources Manager, the HR Field Operations Generalist will be responsible for being the first point of contact for all HR queries and managing a range of HR functions including recruitment, performance issues, on-boarding, employee relations, policies, and procedures.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Participating in and supporting managers with full case management on ER cases.
- Advising and aiding managers with all aspects of the company absence policy.
- Managing any long term absence for a return to work or terminations, including occupational health referrals.
- Supporting, coaching, and challenging line management with disciplinary and grievance issues.
- Aiding in delivering training to line managers to ensure they understand and comply with HR policies and procedures.
- Providing HR Admin support across the whole employee lifecycle.
- Supporting the effective communication and implementation of HR policies such as parental leave, flexible working.
- Driving employee engagement on site.
- Signposting employees to the relevant support where applicable - SIMON and Employee Shared Services.
- Supporting the line managers, coordinating the various end-to-end recruitment campaigns, including preparing job adverts, facilitating shortlisting, interviews, and carrying out exit interviews.
- Working with the wider business to develop an onboarding process for new hires (including any relevant Occupational Health Audio Testing/Driver assessments).
- Supporting the Early Career Framework and the Apprenticeship programme.
- Producing, interpreting, and presenting monthly, end-of-year, and ad-hoc HR KPIs and reports (staff turnover, sickness absence, leavers, new starter surveys, diversity & inclusion, etc).
- Accurate and timely administration and maintenance of all HR databases and systems.
- Supporting the development of an HR framework for the business, including designing forms, processes, systems, and templates.
- Ensuring wellbeing, inclusion, and engagement initiatives are carried out.
- Supporting the wider HR and management team in all aspects of HR projects and initiatives as required.
- Promoting company values in all dealings with other employees, clients, contractors, and other external contacts.
- Working with the Plant Managers on succession planning and talent management.
- Participation in audits such as BRC and ethical audits.
Qualifications and Experience
- CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards) or equivalent.
- Knowledge of employment law and HR best practice and legislation and how to apply this.
- Working knowledge of the end-to-end recruitment process.
- A proactive approach to continuous business improvements.
- A high level of customer service with the ability to bend and flex your communication style accordingly.
- Good commercial awareness within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge and experience of dealing with Unions.
