HR Coordinator/Recruiter
About the Role
The Human Resource Coordinator provides administrative support to the human resource function, including record-keeping, file maintenance, and HRIS entry. This role assists with and facilitates human resource processes for all dealership locations, supports employee health and welfare plans, and acts as a liaison between employees and insurance providers. The position ensures benefits-related problems are resolved, plans are used effectively, and compliance with federal and state regulations is maintained. The Human Resource Coordinator reports directly to the Human Resource Director.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate employee recruitment processes, including obtaining required authorizations, arranging interviews, making employment offers, and assisting with new hire orientation.
- Assist with the onboarding process, including new hire paperwork.
- Prepare new-employee files and process terminations.
- Complete Forms I-9 documentation and maintain I-9 files.
- Collect and process new hires, status changes, and termination paperwork; enter data into HRIS and payroll systems ensuring accuracy.
- Maintain employee personnel and health files, ensuring current licensure, certifications, education documentation, and health-required documents are filed timely.
- Assist HR Director with LMVC compliance of sales licensure and tracking process from hire to termination.
- File documents into appropriate employee files and prepare correspondence as requested.
- Assist with the preparation of the performance review process.
- Administer all aspects of employee benefit plans, including enrollment, life events, changes, and terminations.
- Reconcile benefit statements and assist the payroll coordinator with employee referral and spiff checks.
- Assist the HR Director with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Stay apprised of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations to ensure dealership compliance.
- Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
Requirements
- Minimum of one to three years of experience in Human Resources preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.

- Must be able to stand and/or walk at least two hours per day.

Schedule
Monday - Friday, with two possible schedules:
- 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (with a one-hour lunch break)
- 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (with a 30-minute lunch break)
Pay
Pay Range: $35,000 - $45,000 annually.
