POSITION PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The Human Resources Coordinator supports the Human Resources department through coordination and administrative functions. This position performs a wide variety of duties including employee recruitment and selection. Serves as the point of contact for employees, supervisors, and applicants with questions regarding benefits and hiring. Provides organization and process support to the department to align with department goals and support organizational culture.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Aid in the day-to-day administrative operations of the HR department.
- Process new hire onboarding and documentation, including I-9 forms. Ensure proper documentation and verification for Everify purposes.
- Prepare on-boarding documentation for new hires and ensure accurate and timely completion of the hiring process. Assist in the data entry of new hires into the payroll and insurance portals.
- Proactively assist in addressing employee questions and concerns as appropriate.
- Support employee recognition efforts and help organize company incentives and luncheons.
- Guide employees through various human resources processes, answering any questions they may have about policies.
- Handle the interview process from contacting applicants, setting up interviews, conducting interviews, informing applicants on position details, etc.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Possess attention to detail to prioritize, multi-task, and work independently.
- Possess a follow-up and follow-through mindset to track and manage all documentation, requests, and compliance for the department.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all HR functions.
- Assist with phone and lobby coverage in the absence of the front office.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- A high school degree or GED with a minimum of 1 year experience in HR, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Fluency in English. Spanish proficiency is a plus but not required.
- Ability to communicate calmly and effectively with employees.
- Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Required to sit, stand, and walk; stoop, bend, reach, and kneel; lift at least 20lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Noise, dust, lighting, temperature, and physical/ergonomic hazards are typically found in an office environment.
