Responsibilities

  • Manage weekly payroll processing for multiple employee groups, confirming time records, pay details, and exceptions are handled accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain organized employee files and HR system records to support accurate documentation and day-to-day department operations.
  • Cook up hiring support activities, including background screening, employment verification steps, and completion of required work authorization documentation.
  • Lead onboarding logistics such as orientation for new employees, benefits enrollment support, and participation coordination for retirement plan meetings.
  • Administer health and welfare benefit programs while serving as a point of contact for employees, brokers, and insurance carriers.
  • Monitor attendance, leave balances, and time-off requests to help ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Aid in employee relations matters, workplace safety documentation, and workers’ compensation recordkeeping as needed.
  • Prepare and distribute HR communications and provide bilingual Spanish support when employee translation assistance is needed.
  • Partner with outside vendors and service providers to help maintain compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in payroll, human resources coordination, or a related support role.
  • Practical experience processing full-cycle payroll, preferably in an environment supporting weekly payroll for multiple employee populations.
  • Familiarity with HR administration tasks such as onboarding, background checks, employee record maintenance, and HRIS updates.
  • Working knowledge of payroll compliance topics, including timekeeping review, garnishments, and leave or attendance tracking.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, along with experience using payroll or HR information systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail, with the ability to manage several priorities in a fully onsite setting.
  • Clear communication skills and a dependable, detail-focused approach when working with employees, managers, and external partners.
  • Spanish language support ability is helpful for employee communication and translation needs.
