HR Business Partner II- North
ECU Health North Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited, 204-bed acute care facility serving Halifax, Northampton, and Warren counties in north-central North Carolina, as well as southern Virginia. With over 800 team members, the hospital provides a broad range of medical and surgical services, including a 24-hour emergency department, advanced diagnostics, and specialty and primary care.
About the role
The Human Resources Business Partner works as a member of the leadership team for assigned organizational units to identify and develop solutions to human capital needs. This role requires a blend of HR and business acumen, data analytics, and strategic insight to align HR strategies with both health system and business unit goals. The HR Business Partner collaborates with business leaders to develop service level agreements, ensures implementation of HR processes, and leads the resolution of employee relations matters. They act as a key liaison to broker HR services in talent management, total rewards, talent acquisition, learning, employee relations, and organization design.
Responsibilities
- Fully understand the business, internal and external challenges, system strategy, and goals to develop outcome-focused HR strategies that support the business.
- Collaborate with Communities of Expertise (COEs) to develop and implement solutions addressing identified client human resource needs critical to business goals.
- Assess talent needs of the business and develop strategies to attract, recruit, and develop future leaders.
- Partner with COE and Talent Acquisition Consultants to implement talent strategies that build a diverse leadership team.
- Utilize organizational data (engagement surveys, exit interviews, 90-day surveys, turnover reports) to proactively identify and respond to talent, engagement, and retention challenges.
- Monitor and measure outcomes of implemented strategies.
- Coach and work with business leaders to identify gaps and build skills and capabilities within their teams to support a culture of engagement.
- Lead change processes to support business needs, including managing human resources issues impacted by change initiatives.
- Lead the implementation and execution of system-level HR initiatives in the assigned business (e.g., engagement surveys, annual performance management, compensation adjustments, HRIS).
- Provide proactive coaching to leaders to increase organizational effectiveness.
- Support leaders and team members by directing them to appropriate resources in Essential HR and Centers of Expertise.
- Advocate for enterprise and organizational values, holding leaders accountable for appropriate behaviors.
- Maintain awareness of emerging trends and best practices to align HR strategy with business objectives.
- Use data and insights to drive decision-making and proactively address trends, creating reporting to measure results.
- Facilitate positive relationships and communications between team members and departments through meetings, one-to-one interactions, and visibility.
- Adopt a continuous improvement mindset to enhance service delivery.
- Actively participate in team huddles and meetings, providing updates and feedback professionally.
- Communicate concerns through appropriate channels with a focus on mutual respect.
- Cross-train to ensure working knowledge of various departmental tasks to provide support as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree is preferred.
- 5–7 years of relevant experience is required.
Pay
$75,857.60 – $110,567.60
