HR Business Partner II

About the Role

As the HR Business Partner II (HRBP II), you will align business objectives with employees and management, serving as a consultant on human resource-related issues.

Responsibilities

• Act as a consultant to senior leaders on human resource-related issues
• Proactively lead, influence, and communicate the business strategy
• Partner with business leaders to align people strategy with business strategy and anticipate HR implications
• Act as an employee champion and change agent, anticipating HR-related needs
• Lead change management efforts with business units to ensure smooth transitions
• Independently handle complex employee relations matters, including investigations, terminations, counseling, coaching, and documentation
• Support business leaders with performance management, including annual evaluations, goal setting, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary steps
• Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, labor laws, standards, and regulations
• Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions and resolving work-related problems
• Advise business leaders on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning
• Collect and analyze HR metrics, including turnover data and exit interview data, to create and implement action plans
• Serve as liaison between business leaders and HR Centers of Excellence on programs such as talent acquisition, talent development, total rewards, and employee engagement
• Lead organizational design discussions to optimize team structures and improve efficiency
• Address employee concerns and advise managers on policy matters, including equal employment opportunity, work complaints, and harassment allegations
• Provide expertise on employment claims such as unemployment, EEOC, and related investigations
• Actively participate in HR or HRIS projects
• Manage the progressive disciplinary process and approvals
• Recommend changes and monitor compliance with laws for related practices and employee handbooks
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field (strongly preferred)
• 7+ years of progressive HR experience in employee relations or HR business partner capacity

Skills

• Hard Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, databases), HR-specific software
• Soft Skills: Strong presentation skills, willingness to learn from other departments, innovation, verbal and written communication, time management, organization, can-do attitude, sense of urgency, ability to take constructive criticism, strong work ethic

Physical Demands

• Prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
• Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
• Normal range of hearing and vision
