Our Lenox, Iowa location—known as the "Pearl of the Prairie"—offers small-town living with big-city amenities nearby in Des Moines, Omaha, and Kansas City. Located in Taylor County with a population of around 1,400, Lenox features beautiful croplands, a four-day rodeo every July, a 36-9 hole golf course, fishing and boating lakes, great hunting, a city park with a swimming pool, and picnic areas. The Lenox facility primarily produces pre-cooked egg patties. With its friendly atmosphere, safe environment, and progressive spirit, Lenox is a great place to live, work, play, and raise a family.
Responsibilities
The HR Business Partner will provide support and assistance to employees while performing HR-related duties on a professional level. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: safety, recruitment, retention, staffing, benefit administration, employee relations, records maintenance, policy implementation, and employment law compliance. This role ensures compliance with safety work rules, reinforces safety as a core value, and adheres to food safety and quality policies.
- Partner with operations teams to develop strategies to recruit, develop, and retain a skilled workforce.
- Handle recruitment and selection by posting job openings, reviewing applications, screening, and interviewing job applicants.
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Develop human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information and recommending courses of action.
- Review employment transactions for accuracy (e.g., annual reviews, promotions, transfers, new hire paperwork).
- Ensure HR compliance by participating in monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance audits and training.
- Supervise the orientation process, including completing paperwork, conducting company tours, and presenting company policies.
- Assist in affirmative action initiatives.
- Identify, develop, and facilitate employee training.
- Supervise the day-to-day activities of HR team members.
- Participate in teams (e.g., HR Strategy, Safety, and Plant Continuous Improvement Teams).
- Provide support to supervisors and managers on personnel issues, ensuring fair and consistent policy administration.
- Offer high-quality advice and service on daily employee relations and performance management issues.
- Maintain up-to-date job knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, networks, and organizations.
- Ensure a safe and healthy workplace by adhering to safety policies and procedures.
- Follow quality work practices, GMPs, and maintain sanitary conditions to ensure product quality.
- Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality to management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- 3–5 years of experience within Human Resources in a manufacturing environment.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in human resources management.
- Preferred: PHR or other relevant certification.
- Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge and experience in human resources policies, benefits, and staffing.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
- Exceptional computer skills.
