About the role

This role will be based in either Coppell, TX or Jacksonville, FL (with a strong preference for Coppell) and follows a hybrid schedule of four days onsite and one day remote. The position reports to the HR Director and requires periodic regional travel estimated at 20–30%. If based in Coppell, quarterly visits to the Jacksonville home office are expected. As the HR Business Partner, you’ll support approximately 200+ team members across a fast-paced, geographically distributed logistics environment, working closely with all levels from entry-level warehouse roles to Director and VP+ leadership. This hands-on role balances day-to-day employee needs with broader business initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Align business objectives with employees and management in designated business units, delivering value-added HR services.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with business leaders and provide HR guidance to management at all levels.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the broader HR group to develop and execute solutions and programs.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to employee management, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with the legal department as needed.
  • Consult with employees on benefit plans, payroll, HRIS issues, and other concerns.
  • Create and approve job requisitions, job changes, organizational changes, offer extensions, employee status changes, and other HR-related updates in the HRIS system.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Develop offer terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers.
  • Provide guidance on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Identify training needs and individual executive coaching needs.
  • Partner with the recruiting team on open roles and may support or lead recruiting for leadership or specialty positions.
  • Draft job descriptions, provide job leveling information, and communicate changes to the field.
  • Perform exit interviews and report on trends.
  • Provide guidance and support on new market expansion and market decommissioning, including continuity plans, incentives, and severance offerings.
  • Handle special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience with exposure to or ownership of business partner responsibilities.
  • Experience investigating and resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • Experience supporting a geographically dispersed workforce, preferably within logistics or warehousing.
  • Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines, including compensation, organizational design, employee relations, diversity, performance management, recruiting, and federal/state employment laws.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred, or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment.

Schedule

Hybrid schedule: four days onsite and one day remote.

Travel

Periodic regional travel estimated at 20–30%. Quarterly visits to the Jacksonville home office if based in Coppell.
