About the Role

This hands-on HR Business Partner supports approximately 400 employees in a unionized manufacturing facility. The role requires significant interaction and visibility across all levels, departments, and shifts to drive work system improvements that enhance business profitability and employee engagement while fostering a reliability culture.

Responsibilities

  • Educate, coach, and counsel leaders on job performance, employee development, and diversity to build high-performing teams aligned with business goals.
  • Recruit hourly and salaried employees using pre-employment training and college recruiting initiatives.
  • Educate and coach line management on company policies, work rules, and federal/state regulations to ensure fair, consistent HR practices and compliance with labor agreements.
  • Promote and implement communication strategies to deliver accurate, timely information on business issues and employee concerns.
  • Research and introduce HR best practices to leverage leading-edge technology and innovative strategies.
  • Represent management in labor relations, including interpretation, administration, and negotiation support of collective bargaining agreements.
  • Champion the IP Change Process (IPCP) and utilize change management to drive a reliability culture.
  • Investigate and mediate employee disputes to resolve interpersonal conflicts.
  • Design and execute HR programs and services that align with strategic business and functional goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (required).
  • 2–3 years of Human Resources experience or relevant coursework.
  • Manufacturing environment experience (highly desirable).
  • Geographic flexibility.

Skills

  • Strong functional/technical skills with a focus on labor relations.
  • Proficiency in SAP and HR/Payroll systems.
  • Project management experience (desired).
  • Experience leading organizational change and designing HR initiatives.
