About the Role

Provide human resources leadership and support to multiple facilities, under limited supervision and using independent judgement. Responsible for the day-to-day administration of policies and programs covering recruitment, benefits, training, employee relations, employee engagement, and safety and HR compliance. Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures and serve as a liaison with internal departments and temporary agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage policies, processes, and practices related to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, and workforce planning.
  • Lead the department in the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of HR-related processes (SOPs, Work Instructions).
  • Ensure compliance with employment-related laws.
  • Engage and manage temporary agencies to fulfill open positions and audit agencies for compliance.
  • Oversee Human Resources functions such as recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compensation, training, equal employment/affirmative action, records, safety and health, benefits, and employee services.
  • Conduct research into human resource programs and recommend changes or innovations.
  • Coordinate, partner, and deliver vendor and/or company-developed training courses for employees.
  • Manage risk associated with employee relations.
  • Hire, coach, train, and develop subordinate staff; assign work, set completion dates, review work, and manage performance.
  • Correspond with HR Director to document and assist in resolving employee issues and/or disciplinary matters.
  • Drive efficiency and effectiveness in HR processes to minimize time spent on low-value-add activities.
  • Administer benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, wellness, life insurance, 401(k), short-term disability, long-term disability, and paid time off.
  • Ensure employee relations activities occur (e.g., safety events, service awards, employee recognition, social responsibility functions) and actively participate in planning and organizing.
  • Plan and implement recruitment and selection efforts; educate hiring managers about the selection process and take proactive measures to ensure a diverse workforce.
  • Oversee learning and development activities; recommend and conduct appropriate training (e.g., Levels program, technical training, leadership training).
  • Lead the new hire process, including job description development, job advertising, background checks, reference checks, and onboarding to promote a positive attitude toward company integration.
  • Ensure performance management is accurate, equitable, and timely; support management in addressing performance issues.
  • Foster and maintain an employer-friendly environment.
  • Facilitate effective and timely communication between all levels of employees.
  • Investigate and coordinate the resolution of employee issues and conflicts.
  • Monitor compliance with HR-related issues (I-9, EEO, OSHA, sexual harassment training, federal postings) and maintain appropriate logs of completion.
  • Participate in HR internal audits and recommend necessary adjustments.
  • Effectively manage communications of HR programs, processes, and policies to company management and team members.
  • Participate in the development and execution of new HR programs, processes, and projects aligned with HR and business priorities.
  • Coordinate company Employee Engagement surveys and performance improvement programs.
  • Analyze, articulate, and act upon notable talent trends (HR Data and Analytics).
  • Travel up to 10% of the time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field (preferred).
  • PHR certification (preferred).
  • 5 years of supervisory experience.
  • 8 years of progressive HR-related experience, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, timekeeping, and safety, preferably within a warehouse/production environment.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • High level of confidentiality.
  • Bilingual (preferred but not required).
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and multitask.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • ADP experience (preferred but not required).
