About the role
This position serves as a strategic partner to assigned regional leaders and employees, aligning HR initiatives with business objectives. The HRBP will provide comprehensive HR support and expertise, fostering a positive work environment, driving employee engagement, and ensuring compliance with all relevant labor laws and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business leaders to understand their strategies, objectives, and challenges, and translate them into actionable HR plans.
- Provide strategic guidance and support on organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, and change management initiatives.
- Act as a trusted advisor to management on all people-related issues.
- Support performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and calibration.
- Provide guidance and counsel to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
- Promote and foster a positive and inclusive work environment that drives high employee morale and engagement.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints or concerns with fairness and objectivity.
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations.
- Support the onboarding and offboarding process to ensure smooth transitions and integrations into teams.
- Lead and support change management efforts within the business units, ensuring smooth transitions and employee adoption of new processes or structures.
- Drive Talent Strategy: Partner with business leaders to champion robust talent mapping, succession planning, and performance calibration cycles that identify high-potential employees and proactively address future capability gaps.
- Enable Manager Capabilities: Coach and guide people managers on building tailored development plans, defining clear career pathways, and cultivating a culture of continuous feedback and accountability.
- Design, implement, and track the impact of targeted training initiatives and leadership development programs tailored to your specific business units.
Requirements
- Experience: 5–7 years of HR experience, with at least 4 years in an HR Business Partner (HRBP) role specifically supporting teams in the United States. Knowledge of Canadian employment law is helpful but not required.
- Talent Development: Previous talent development experience is highly preferred but not required.
- HR Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices, and current US employment laws.
- Education: Degree in Human Resources or equivalent training program.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and presentation skills.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Relationship Building: Ability to build rapport and trust at all levels of the organization.
