About the role
The Benefits Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the firm's HRIS, ensuring accurate processing and administration of employee benefits. They also assist employees with various benefit inquiries and support the implementation of new programs.
Responsibilities
- Processing and auditing all benefit transactions
- Administering Firm’s policies on partner and employee leaves of absence
- Assisting employees with benefits-related issues such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance programs, health savings accounts, flexible spending accounts, and retirement benefits
- Helping promote work/life balance programs
- Processing monthly benefit plan invoices
- Responding to inquiries directed to the benefits mailbox
- Assisting with retroactive benefit deductions and other special deductions
- Providing administrative and technical support for open enrollment
- Assisting with gathering data for benefit surveys
- Assisting with maintenance of benefits content on the firm’s benefit portal
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience administering employee benefit and/or wellbeing programs
- General knowledge of FMLA and pertinent federal and state regulations affecting employee benefits
Qualifications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including advanced knowledge of Word and Excel
- Technical expertise with strong attention to accuracy and detail
- Commitment to client service and professionalism
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift a file box (approximately 25 lbs.)
Qualifications
- High school diploma, Associate or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
- Excellent organization skills with a high attention to detail
- Strong written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Basic knowledge of Benefit terminology
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Previous experience in an administrative role or customer service is a plus
Work Schedule
Core office hours are 9:00am to 6:00pm. This role requires being present in the office Monday to Friday.
Compensation
The Compensation range for this role is up to 27.00 USD per hour and may be eligible for an annual bonus. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual's location, skills, experience, and qualifications.
