About the role
Nexus Children's Hospital – Dallas is seeking a Human Resources Assistant (PRN) to support their Human Resources Department. This position plays a critical role in ensuring efficient HR operations by assisting with employee onboarding, personnel records management, compliance tracking, employee support, and administrative functions.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Manager.
- Maintain employee personnel files and HR records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure confidentiality of employee information and sensitive records.
- Assist with data entry, reporting, and HR documentation.
- Prepare employment-related correspondence, forms, and personnel action documents.
- Aid in HR audits and compliance initiatives.
- Assist with maintaining employee files, credentialing documentation, and regulatory records.
- Prepare onboarding materials and facilitate new hire paperwork.
- Ensure all required employment documentation is completed and maintained.
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, procedures, and general HR matters.
- Support employee recognition and engagement initiatives.
- Help coordinate employee events, celebrations, and wellness activities.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company employment regulations.
- Maintain required licenses, certifications, and employee documentation.
- Assist with tracking annual competencies, education requirements, and mandatory training completion.
- Support policy administration and documentation processes as directed by the Human Resources Manager.
- Maintain accurate records to support regulatory surveys and audits.
- Maintain HR office supplies and department organization.
- Assist with scheduling meetings and preparing reports.
- Support special projects and departmental initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- One (1) year of administrative, human resources, payroll, office support, or healthcare administrative experience preferred.
- Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
- Experience handling confidential information strongly preferred.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.
