About the role

Nexus Children's Hospital – Dallas is seeking a Human Resources Assistant (PRN) to support their Human Resources Department. This position plays a critical role in ensuring efficient HR operations by assisting with employee onboarding, personnel records management, compliance tracking, employee support, and administrative functions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Manager.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and HR records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure confidentiality of employee information and sensitive records.
  • Assist with data entry, reporting, and HR documentation.
  • Prepare employment-related correspondence, forms, and personnel action documents.
  • Aid in HR audits and compliance initiatives.
  • Assist with maintaining employee files, credentialing documentation, and regulatory records.
  • Prepare onboarding materials and facilitate new hire paperwork.
  • Ensure all required employment documentation is completed and maintained.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding policies, procedures, and general HR matters.
  • Support employee recognition and engagement initiatives.
  • Help coordinate employee events, celebrations, and wellness activities.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company employment regulations.
  • Maintain required licenses, certifications, and employee documentation.
  • Assist with tracking annual competencies, education requirements, and mandatory training completion.
  • Support policy administration and documentation processes as directed by the Human Resources Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records to support regulatory surveys and audits.
  • Maintain HR office supplies and department organization.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings and preparing reports.
  • Support special projects and departmental initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • One (1) year of administrative, human resources, payroll, office support, or healthcare administrative experience preferred.
  • Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience handling confidential information strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative team environment.
