Click on the following link to view the full pay range on the ESP Salary Schedule: https://www.hsd2.org/our-district/financial-transparency Job Summary The Human Resources Assistant Onboarding and Compliance is responsible for managing and tracking onboarding tasks for newly hired employees, to include ensuring completion of required orientation materials and initial set up of new records in the HR database system. The HR Assistant Onboarding and Compliance will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with various legal and district requirements, to include instructional paraprofessional qualifications and annual acknowledgement/training processes. This position will also support the day-to-day activities in the Human Resources department and assist with special projects throughout each year. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Carries out all aspects of the new hire onboarding process for all ESP, Licensed and Administrative employees. Distributes onboarding materials upon confirmation of acceptance of the employment offer. Ensures all onboarding paperwork, contracts and document submissions are completed accurately and in a timely manner. Follows up with newly hired employees to complete any missing portions of the onboarding process. In collaboration with the HR Specialists and Assistant Director of HR, routinely assesses orientation components to ensure that the process appropriately covers all pertinent areas and makes updates to the process as needed. Schedules and conducts new hire fingerprinting.Serves as a resource to newly hired employees for routine questions during the onboarding process. Provides updates and status reports to schools/departments regarding new hire's progress toward completing the onboarding process. Coordinates starting date with hiring manager once new hire has completed all required steps. Verifies starting date with HR Specialists (for ESP and Licensed hires) or Assistant Director of HR (for Administrative hires) to ensure accurate pay set up.Completes the initial set up of the new employee personnel file in the District's electronic system and the initial set up of the new employee record in the HR personnel data system. Verifies and documents unique EDID number from the Colorado Department of Education. Closes out hiring packet for the filled vacancy.Assists HR Specialists with the licensed staff salary movement process. Serves as the initial reviewer of submissions and evaluates transcripts to identify valid Professional Development (PD) hours and Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Documents potential salary movement for final review/approval by the HR Specialists.Routinely proctors Work Keys exams in-house to ensure compliance with the Colorado Department of Education's requirements for instructional paraprofessionals. Tracks impacted employees and their progress toward compliance within the allowable time frame. Notifies HR Administrators when an employee does not meet the target timeline.Manages and tracks employee progress/status within various compliance projects (such as annual policy acknowledgement forms, legal trainings, active license/certification status, etc.).Manages and tracks completion of various annual submission processes (such as intent to return forms, end-of-year evaluations, etc.).Assists with reviewing and analyzing quality-control reports as needed.Assists HR Administrators with policy review processes.Performs other duties as assigned. Education, Training And Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor's degree in field related to the position preferred.Minimum two years of experience in a customer service environment.Well versed in the use of computer systems as well as data software programs and spreadsheets.Outstanding strategic and analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data, identify trends, pinpoint problems and root causes, and develop innovative solutions.Excellent execution and project management skills, including ability to balance the big picture with detailed steps, prioritize and set goals as well as execute mid-course corrections.Ability to communicate with various audiences verbally and in writing in an engaging, professional manner.Ability to work effectively both independently and within team settings.Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of internet, word processing, databases, data entry, and computer programs including: Windows and MS Office.Good organizational and interpersonal skills required.Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, demonstrate attention to detail, use good judgement and maintain confidentiality.Knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations governing school systems and programs.Ability to promote and follow Board of Education Coherent Governance Policies, District Policies and department procedures; communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and education backgrounds; and recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required.
