About the role

Working closely with a global team of People Experience (PX/HR) Advisors, this role provides generalist advice and guidance to Xero employees, people leaders, and the wider HR team. You'll be a trusted advisor across the full spectrum of people matters, from legislative compliance and onboarding through to performance management, global mobility, and employee relations. This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity involving collaboration with HR Business Partners to deliver strategic initiatives and cyclical activities, including annual salary review, talent mapping and calibration, and engagement deep-dives.

You'll help identify trends and opportunities to build leadership capability, contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, and look for ways to bring more automation and self-service into how Xeros experience our people processes.

The Team & How They Connect

You'll sit within the global HR Advisory team, working day-to-day alongside other HR Advisors and in close partnership with the wider HR function and Xero People Leaders. The team acts as the point of contact for complex people-related matters and policy interpretation, escalating and collaborating where issues cut across regions or specialties.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and guidance across employee relations, onboarding, performance management, and employee engagement.
  • Support Global Mobility and Flexible Work requests, partnering with the Global Mobility Lead.
  • Support cyclical HR processes including Annual Salary Review, Talent Mapping and Calibration, and engagement deep-dives.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and self-service to give Xeros more ownership of their own HR experience.

Where And How You Can Work

This is a remote role, open to candidates based in the US Pacific Time Zone. You'll work independently while staying closely connected with a global team, so a reliable home setup and comfort with asynchronous, distributed collaboration are important.

Requirements

  • HR advisory experience gained in a fast-paced environment, preferably in a global tech company.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, backed by clear and confident communication.
  • Experience applying employment law in practice and managing associated risks.
  • Familiarity with facilitating people processes and employee relations cases in line with best practice.
  • Curiosity to ask the right questions and understand underlying issues before advising.
  • A high standard for accuracy and consistent follow-through on commitments.

Pay

The expected base salary range for this role is:

  • California, New York, and Washington: $93,800 – $117,300 USD
  • All other States: $81,700 – $102,100 USD

Individual pay is determined by various factors, including geography, level of experience, and specific skills.

Benefits

  • Variable Pay: Eligibility for annual bonus and equity (RSU) programs, as well as performance-based cash or equity incentives depending on role level and company performance.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match, 21 days PTO, 10 days Wellbeing leave, 5 days Xtra Leave, 1 volunteer day, 12 paid holidays, and paid parental leave.
