HQF - Temporary Gardener 1 - Fall Planting - Full Time Schedule - Temple Square

Responsibilities

• Aid in planting fall flower beds, including tulip bulbs for the famous Temple Square displays.
• Perform grounds maintenance tasks, such as setting up and taking down Christmas lights and displays.
• Contribute to grounds maintenance as directed.
• Assist with snow removal, including shoveling snow.
• Report any issues to the supervisor.
• Engage in public relations by maintaining a positive image.
• Operate motorized equipment like a walk behind snow blower, lawn mower, and work from ladders.
• Use hand tools or motorized tools as needed.
• Travel to multiple buildings off Temple Square as necessary.

Qualifications

• Physically and mentally capable of outdoor work in all seasons.
• Ability to operate assigned equipment such as walk behind snow blower, walk behind lawn mower, and other motorized tools.
• Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, squatting, pushing, and pulling for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and position objects weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Fit into confined spaces and maneuver flower beds without causing damage.
• Knowledge of various plants and fertilizers.
• Ability to climb ladders and work in high locations on a mechanical lift and building ledges.
• Professional demeanor and teamwork skills.

About the Role

Join the Grounds Crew at Church Headquarters in downtown Salt Lake City to help create and maintain stunning landscapes. Work 20-40 hours per week, typically from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with some flexibility in scheduling. This is a temporary position lasting up to 6 months, offering opportunities for professional growth and a wholesome work environment.

Requirements

Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
