Schedule

• Monday-Friday, Afternoon Shift, 1:00pm-5:00pm
• Must be willing to work rotating weekends (every 7th Saturday); and events and holidays as scheduled
• Location: Conference Center Building, Salt Lake City, Utah

Pay

$18.00/hr

Responsibilities

Here’s what you’ll do on a standard day of work:

• Sanitize public areas, offices, and restrooms, daily or as instructed (yes this means cleaning toilets, but it’s not usually that bad)
• Dust or polish furnishings, light fixtures, windowsills, wood paneling, etc.
• Spot clean carpets, rugs and upholstery, restock supplies, remove leaves or snow, and dispose of trash, waste, and other materials (it’s very satisfying to put everything in order every day)
• Attend meetings and trainings crafted to increase your knowledge and abilities
• Operate mechanized cleaning equipment, vacuums, buffers, large scrubbers and sweepers, and extraction equipment, etc. (we’ll provide equipment training)
• Perform emergency cleanups including floods, bodily fluids, spills, etc.
• Report safety or security issues and needed repairs

Requirements

• Independently lift and position objects weighing as much as 50 pounds
• Stand, walk, kneel, squat, stoop, push, pull, twist, bend, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods of time
• Complete vital tasks and handle basic issues and solve problems professionally
• Work alone without constant supervision but also strengthen teams
• Work with various cleaning solvents and chemicals, aligning with all regulations associated with the safe handling of chemicals
• Work in damp, dusty, and/or dirty areas
• Read, comprehend, and communicate in English for video training, building security, and safety purposes, including asking clarifying questions as needed
• Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy

Qualifications

Any previous experience or knowledge of custodial practices is welcomed but not required.

This is a part-time position without medical benefits.

Please note: This position does not qualify for students required to work on the Ensign College Campus.
