About the role
We need you to bring creative ideas and diverse backgrounds to help us envision, shape, and deliver systems that will enable the exploration of space while benefiting people here on Earth. This position supports the Flight Sciences Laboratory (FSL) at Johnson Space Center (JSC).
Responsibilities
- Support the FSL, a primary compute lab hosting analyses for all human-spaceflight programs at NASA.
- Build and maintain all FSL services, including High Performance Compute (HPC) administration, high-end Linux workstation administration, high-speed networking, and high-speed parallel filesystem administration.
- Work with a team of HPC System Administrators to ensure effective utilization of the systems by FSL users.
- Investigate system problems, monitor system health, and collaborate with FSL users to support NASA human spaceflight missions.
Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a related area and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Experience in Linux system administration, system configuration management, container-based HPC workflows, complex CI/CD workflows, HPC job scheduler administration, and demonstrated problem-solving, planning, and communication skills.
- Experience with RedHat-based systems, container technologies like Docker, Podman, and Apptainer, Luster high-speed parallel file systems, InfiniBand, Ansible/Foreman, SLURM resource manager, SPACK software manager, log consolidation and monitoring, Git/GitLab, and software development (CI/CD).
Qualifications
