About the Role
As a Housing Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting affordable housing initiatives, engaging community partners, and sharing vital housing information with the public. This position blends program coordination, public communication, data analysis, and hands-on project support. Responsibilities
- Develop and organize public-facing information about housing and community development programs, highlighting Housing & Neighborhood Preservation (HNP) initiatives to increase community and business engagement.
- Coordinate press releases, marketing materials, and media outreach - ensuring everything aligns with HUD requirements.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with public and private organizations to share resources, tools, and information supporting affordable housing development.
- Assist with managing housing projects, programs, and affordable housing data.
- Review and assess applications to determine eligibility for various programs.
- Coordinate inspections of dwellings associated with Housing Opportunity Fund projects.
- Compile monthly and annual data used to track program and project performance.
- Monitor fiscal status for assigned programs and prepare routine financial reports.
Requirements

- Comfort working independently in community settings.
- Knowledge of housing principles and strategies for revitalizing neighborhoods.
- Basic understanding of housing finance and real estate fundamentals.
- Experience working with diverse groups to achieve consensus on issues or policies.
- Skill in facilitating challenging conversations among stakeholders.
- Experience determining eligibility for federal housing programs.
