Housing Coordinator
Job Description
The Coordinator, Family Housing is responsible for managing the overall operations of student family housing facilities and supporting the institution’s mission of providing safe and comfortable living environments that promote student success.
Essential Functions
- Demonstrate TSTC's core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity in all interactions with stakeholders, customers, students, and community members.
- Manage student family housing placement, move-ins, and move-outs.
- Cook up maintenance needs with the Physical Plant to ensure optimal occupancy of housing facilities.
- Manage all leases and tenant related paperwork for occupancy. This includes conducting all background checks on students and assigned family members.
- Implement monthly rent billing and communications for overdue or delinquent rents with The Office of Student Accounting.
- Required to be educated in Texas State Landlord law and compliance.
- Oversee in partnership with The Office of Legal Services any tenant lawsuits or court appearances on behalf of TSTC Residence Life.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs for all housing units, including apartments, and houses designated for family dwelling.
- Enforce housing rules and regulations, conduct safety training and drills, and ensure compliance with housing policies.
- Partner with Resident Life and Engagement Coordinators to plan and implement educational and social events for residents.
- Absorb support for events and operations at the Wellness and Recreation Centers as needed.
- Oversee housing inspections to assess inventory, maintenance needs, and lease or policy compliance.
- Supervise application processing, tenant record management, and other housing procedures.
- Share on-call responsibilities with the Director of Housing to address after-hours tenant needs and incidents.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience will be considered.
- 3 years of experience in a related position, with a proven ability to manage and supervise effectively.

- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with housing management software.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of common office equipment.
Target Hiring Range
The Target Hiring Range for the position is $36,545 - $39,286. The final salary offer will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
