Housing Case Manager Support Specialist (Washington County)

About the role
This hybrid, full-time position supports IRCO’s Washington County Senior Housing Program. The Housing Case Manager Support Specialist works both on-site and in the field, maintaining a 20:1 participant-to-case-manager ratio. The role focuses on delivering participant-centered, flexible housing case management to individuals experiencing homelessness or housing instability who are eligible for Metro Supportive Housing Services in Washington County.
Responsibilities
- Provide participant-centered, trauma-informed customer service sensitive to challenges of homelessness, including medical and behavioral health issues.
- Employ a “whatever it takes” approach to assist participants in transitioning from homelessness to permanent supportive housing.
- Guide households through all stages of housing stabilization, offering flexible services tailored to participant needs.
- Collaborate with other case managers, establish professional relationships, and work effectively as part of a team.
- Build professional relationships with participants, conduct assessments, and develop individualized case management service plans in collaboration with participants, including needs, goals, steps, timeframes, and progress tracking.
- Meet multiple, sometimes conflicting deadlines while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
- Work flexible hours to accommodate client availability.
- Ensure timely input of client service transactions and expense documents.
Requirements
- Associate degree in human services or related field and minimum 2 years of experience providing services to a similar population, or Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field and minimum 1 year of experience.
- Valid Oregon driver’s license, proof of car insurance, and use of an automobile during work hours.
- Fluency in English; a second language is preferred.

Working Conditions
- Physical: Minimal physical effort (e.g., light lifting, carrying, or movement); some agility and hand-eye coordination required for office or equipment use.
- Mental: Regular variation in tasks; must prioritize and decide task order.
- Environment: Moderately low personal risk; occasional discomfort due to noise, temperature, or interactions with distressed individuals.
- Schedule: Occasional fluctuations based on organizational or client needs, with or without prior notice.

Pay
Starting at $48,600 per year, based on experience.
Contract funded until June 30, 2027 (continuation dependent on funding).
