Overview Of Responsibilities

The Housing Case Manager links youth with housing opportunities, and is responsible for developing written transitional living plans with youth in our programs. We are looking for folks confident in their communication skills with a commitment to Looking Glass's Mission and Values.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience: Casework experience and one year working with runaway, homeless, or at-risk youth is preferred.
  • Availability: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with some on call responsibilities.

Essential Functions

  • Develops written transitional living plan with each youth.
  • Affirms client's service and housing needs.
  • Conglomerates plan with other community resources.
  • Evaluates progress with the youth weekly.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: $25-$27/hour

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) accrual rate starts at ~18.01 hours per month, equivalent to 5.4 weeks/year in the first year of employment.
  • PTO accrual rate increases with tenure at the agency.
  • Paid in-depth training to ensure a successful transition into the agency and position.

Overview Of The Homeless Youth Services Programs

Homeless Youth Services (HYS) provides a 24/7 crisis line, youth emergency shelter, young adult emergency center, crisis intervention, rural and urban street outreach, housing support, educational services, and case management for youth and young adults experiencing homelessness, housing instability, behavioral health challenges, or family conflict. Through a continuum of trauma-informed, youth-centered services, HYS helps young people access basic needs, build life skills, strengthen support systems, and achieve safety, stability, and self-sufficiency. HYS offers integrated support through a Registered Nurse (RN), Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), and multidisciplinary care teams that help youth navigate physical health, behavioral health, substance use, educational, and housing-related needs. As a founding member of Lane County's Behavioral Health Resource Network (BHRN), HYS operates a 24/7 service assessment and referral line, connecting individuals to a network of 17 community partners providing behavioral health treatment, recovery support, housing assistance, and peer services throughout Lane County. HYS service locations include Station 7, PEER Shelter, New Roads Drop-In Center, New Roads School, the Rural Program in Cottage Grove, and mobile community-based and home-based services serving youth and families throughout Lane County.
