Housekeeping Worker Part Time

Position Overview

Western State Hospital, part of the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), seeks a part-time/wage Housekeeping Worker to maintain a safe, sanitary, and attractive environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure bathrooms & shower rooms are cleaned daily
• Replenish paper products
• Ensure trash removed daily
• Ensure floors are mopped daily
• Windows, doors, fixtures cleaned as needed
• Wipe down tables and chairs
• Finishing floors as needed

Minimum Qualifications

• General knowledge in cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms, dayrooms, floor finishing, and cleaning/operating housekeeping equipment
• General skills in cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms, dayrooms, floor finishing, and cleaning/operating housekeeping equipment
• Read, write, perform basic math calculations, lift heavy objects, prolonged standing, walking on various surfaces, climb ladders, work on knees and work in various conditions

Additional Considerations

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Experience in housekeeping
• Valid Operator’s License
• Bilingual
• Veteran or veteran spouse
