Cleanliness Standards

Assigned areas must meet Medical Center cleanliness standards and be completed on a timely basis.

Responsibilities

• Cleans hospital premises utilizing specified cleansing techniques and chemicals while adhering to specified time frame.
• Cleans patient rooms including the cleaning of the best, tables, etc. Utilizing specified cleansing techniques and chemicals while adhering to specified time frame.
• Performs discharge preparation of room, removes linen and all non-clinical items from room, i.e., iv pole, commode, etc. *Assigned areas meet Medical Center cleanliness standards and are completed on a timely basis for discharge to turn around time.
• Dusts and polishes furniture and equipment (i.e., tables, desks, chairs, filing cabinets, etc.).
• Cleans Venetian blinds, window sills, cabinets and closets. Dusts and cleans wall, baseboards, and doors.
• Arranges and rearranges furniture before and after cleaning.
• Washes bathtubs, sinks, tiles, toilets including fixtures. Replenishes disposable items (soap, toilet paper, paper towels, etc).
• Sweeping, mopping and burnishing rooms and corridors. Vacuums appropriate areas.
• Empties and cleans trash receptacles and wastepaper baskets. Gathers and disposes of refuse. Bags and boxes and tags red bag waste and removes to designated areas. Removes bulk refuse to designated areas.
• Keeps housekeeping supply closet in good order. Requests cleaning supplies as needed.
• Performs appropriate documentation as it pertains to specialty cleaning. i.e OR, Cath Lab, Pharmacy, Endo. Escalates issues to appropriate person or department.
• Perform related duties as required (assisting with floods, snow and other emergencies).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma Required or GED Required
• Completion of an appropriate work training program preferred
