About the Role
The Housekeeping Supervisor (HS) works with the Housekeeping Manager to supervise housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring product quality and guest service standards are met. This role involves inspecting rooms, training room attendants, and performing cleaning duties across the hotel to deliver clean rooms that meet brand standards.
Responsibilities
- Deliver Sonesta Service in all guest and client interactions, adhering to Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.
- Partner with the Housekeeping Manager to recruit, develop, and manage team performance, including disciplinary actions.
- Inspect assigned suites and public areas to ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance; provide corrective training as needed.
- Assist with training employees and ensuring they have the tools and equipment for their roles.
- Assist with scheduling and room cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage.
- Perform housekeeping duties, including cleaning guest suites and public spaces.
- Maintain inventory and par levels for linen and room supplies; monitor laundry equipment and supplies.
- Manage lost and found procedures.
- Promote teamwork and communication with other shifts and departments.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety laws.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, plus two years of housekeeping experience, including some supervisory training.
- Previous experience in the extended stay industry preferred.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking); additional languages beneficial.
- Basic math skills, including budgeting, profit/loss concepts, and percentages.
- Strong problem-solving, reasoning, organizational, and training abilities.
- Experience with Microsoft Office preferred.
Skills
- Frequent standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility.
- Ability to lift, carry, or pull items up to 50 pounds.
- Regular use of commercial cleaning chemicals.
- Willingness to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Pay
Pay range: $26.67 to $27.67 per hour (follows contract requirements).
