About the role
Supervise the operations of the housekeeping staff promoting a safe environment and quality service to achieve maximum guest satisfaction, protection of assets and minimal expenses.
Status: Non‑Exempt / Hourly.
Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with guests, team members, and the community, maintaining an even disposition.
- Adhere to hotel brand standards, policies, and rules of conduct, including personal appearance, attendance, and safe/efficient operations.
- Supervise housekeeping staff by providing open communication, training, coaching, counseling, and performance feedback to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Inspect cleaning of guest rooms, turndown service, public areas, and back‑of‑the‑house to ensure compliance with accident/loss prevention programs, health/sanitation standards, and regulations.
- Issue supplies and goods to staff at the beginning of each shift to control inventory and ensure proper availability while controlling expenses.
- Assign daily housekeeping tasks by reviewing occupancy, special requests, VIP arrivals, and priority areas.
- Organize and balance room assignments, prepare and distribute daily housekeeping boards to ensure efficient workload, timely room turnover, and smooth operation.
- Respond to guest requests, concerns, and problems to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Maintain housekeeping records, including room status reports, key logs, and inventory documentation.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment.
- Implement emergency training and procedures to protect the hotel, guests, staff, and company assets.
- Comply with attendance rules and be regularly available for work.
- Communicate with Front Office and Engineering regarding room and maintenance requests.
- Utilize hotel software systems and perform all housekeeping functions as needed.
- Perform any other job‑related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Flexible schedule; ability to work days, evenings, nights, any day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to multitask in a busy environment.
- Strong teamwork orientation and self‑starting personality with effective communication.
- Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy and financial management proficiency.
- Prior customer service experience.
- Supervisory experience: ability to lead, direct, train, and manage housekeeping staff in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager.
- Physical ability to stand/walk for 8 hours, bend, stretch arms overhead, and lift/carry up to 30 pounds.
- Vision (near and far) and finger dexterity for typing, writing, and computer use.
- Clear, understandable spoken English and basic hearing ability.

Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work days, evenings, or nights any day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
