Essential Elements
- Manages the cleanliness and appearance of guest accommodations and public space.
- Ensures all personnel perform housekeeping operations according to established standards.
- Supervises the activities of Room Attendants, Laundry, and Porters.
- Maintains company productivity standards.
- Interviews and trains Housekeeping employees.
- Assists with resolving guest complaints and coordinating with maintenance.
- Tests new products for the Housekeeping department.
- Schedules and maintains a successful cleaning program.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Makes up morning work assignments to ensure all areas are properly maintained.
- Supervises the activities of Housekeeping employees.
- Assists with interviewing and training candidates.
- Checks quality of work and makes appropriate corrections.
- Handles guest complaints and refers issues to the Housekeeping Manager.
- Notifies and coordinates with maintenance for needed repairs.
- Inspects rooms for needed repairs.
- Helps guests and associates as needed.
- Ensures proper operation of lost and found.
- Supervises the cleanliness and stocking of storage areas and linen rooms.
- Reports and delivers valuable items to the Housekeeping Manager's office.
Education & Experience
- Two-year degree in Hospitality/Hotel Management preferred.
- Two or more years of hotel supervisor experience preferred.
Physical
- Capable of lifting up to 35 pounds.
- Constant walking, lifting, bending, pushing, and walking up and down stairs.
- Able to work with cleaning products on a regular basis.
