Housekeeping Supervisor | Columbia Hampton Inn

About the Role

Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts. As part of the Housekeeping Department leadership, you will ensure compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures, maintain knowledge of and comply with all Shaner Hotels, franchise, and hotel/departmental policies and procedures, and keep the housekeeping team informed.

• Handle guest complaints to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Train and develop team members, ensuring all required training is completed according to standards.
• Review daily business levels, anticipate critical situations, and plan effective solutions.
• Assist staff with their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned areas.
• Perform housekeeping, laundry, and houseperson functions whenever necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high quality of services offered to guests through management of the housekeeping department and adherence to established standards and procedures.
• Direct, implement, and maintain a strong service and management philosophy to guide staff.

Requirements

• Prior housekeeping experience in the hospitality industry; supervisory experience a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers.
• High school graduate or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling requirements, and use of equipment.
