Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the facility’s day-to-day housekeeping and related functions including staffing, supply ordering, and supervision to ensure facility policy and standards are met. They also oversee and manage all aspects of the laundry operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and supervise housekeeping staff to ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the facility
• Manage supply ordering and inventory to maintain adequate stock levels
• Oversee and manage laundry operations, ensuring timely and effective cleaning and sorting of linens and other supplies
• Staffing and scheduling of housekeeping and laundry teams to meet operational needs
• Ensure compliance with facility policies and standards, and regulatory requirements
• Interact positively with residents, families, and other associates, fostering a positive environment
• Work cooperatively with regulatory agencies to address any concerns or issues
• Lead and mentor housekeeping and laundry staff to improve performance and efficiency

Qualifications

• Long-term care experience
• Excellent leadership skills
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions in English
• Positive and cooperative relationship with residents, families, and other associates
• Ability to interact positively with personnel from regulatory agencies
• Pass post-employment physical exam if required
• Meet local health regulations
• Pass drug screening, criminal background investigation, and reference inquiry
