Housekeeping Supervisor

Full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position reporting to the General Manager and supervising Housekeeping Associates. Bi-weekly pay.

About the role

The Housekeeping Supervisor ensures that cleanliness standards are met by assigning tasks, inspecting work, and training staff to handle guest requests effectively.

Responsibilities

• Schedule room and cleaning assignments to ensure proper coverage.
• Inspect all assigned rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, equipment, linens, etc. are clean and in good repair.
• Provide efficient and objective feedback to room attendants to drive efficiency and quality within the housekeeping department.
• Ensure all associates have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms including nametags and designated PPE.
• Train associates on safety standards and enforce those standards consistently.
• Identify associates engaging in unsafe behaviors and retrain them appropriately.
• Complete accident investigations and take steps to prevent future accidents.
• Perform all housekeeping duties necessary, including making beds, vacuuming, and cleaning.
• Verify and update the status of discrepant rooms throughout the shift.
• Perform opening and closing shift duties.
• Move heavy furniture.
• Notify maintenance department of necessary repairs.
• Monitor cleanliness of the hotel, including parking lot and exterior entrances.
• Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
