Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for a hands-on Housekeeping Supervisor who blends custodial knowledge with management capabilities. You will take personal accountability for the cleanliness of each guest room and set a good example for your team. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will work with multiple departments to ensure guest satisfaction. This position may require flexible scheduling availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic housekeeping duties including changing sheets, arranging towels, restocking toilet supplies, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning, and rearranging rooms after guests check out
• Deliver linens to the laundry department
• Inspect rooms and public spaces daily to ensure they meet brand and Island Hospitality Management (IHM) standards
• Train new housekeeping staff on guest service guarantees and service standards
• Participate in preventative maintenance programs
• Monitor and replenish stocking levels of all consumables on housekeeping carts
• Notify supervisors of any damages, deficits, or disturbances
• Communicate with the maintenance team regarding maintenance requests reported by housekeeping team members
• Coordinate with the front desk team regarding rooms ready for new arrivals

The number of hours scheduled per week is variable and depends on guest occupancy, season, staffing, and other factors. Island Hospitality is unable to guarantee a specific number of work hours per week.
