About the role
The Housekeeping Supervisor at Great Wolf Lodge drives front-line efficiency and effectiveness in the Housekeeping department. This leadership role focuses on selecting, training, staffing, and coaching front-line staff to ensure safety, quality, and timeliness standards for an exceptional guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Leads and mentors housekeeping staff daily to meet or exceed cleanliness standards and operational efficiencies.
- Ensures timely turnover of all vacant and clean rooms; verifies stayovers, reports early checkouts, and communicates issues with the front office.
- Provides coaching, encouragement, and recognition to team members.
- Understands and champions Great Wolf policies and procedures; collaborates with Housekeeping leadership on performance management.
- Participates in staff scheduling, labor management, and forecasting.
- Develops and executes training programs for new hires and ongoing training for team members.
- Creates and schedules daily assignments, projects, and optimizes staff to ensure lodge cleanliness and performance.
- Conducts daily stand-up meetings with Room Attendants and House Attendants to prioritize tasks and gather feedback.
- Inspects guest rooms for cleanliness, damage, supply levels, maintenance issues, and temperature control; coaches staff for performance improvement.
- Ensures linen storage rooms, trash rooms, and housekeeping carts are clean, organized, and properly inventoried.
- Supervises staff activities to ensure compliance with resort standards, including time and attendance management.
- Participates in the recruitment and selection of talent for the housekeeping department.
- Assists with team meetings and plans engagement activities for staff.
- Ensures proper communication and escalation of maintenance work orders and other concerns.
- Schedules deep clean and carpet care based on a bi-yearly schedule and guest feedback.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Rooms Division supervisor role or similar supervisory position.
- Prior hospitality or housekeeping experience or equivalent formal education.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general software systems.
- Experience with HotSos or similar systems.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, verbal communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (desired).
- Previous housekeeping experience, preferably in a large family resort or hotel.
- Experience with Opera or similar systems.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish).
- Strong time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
