Housekeeping Supervisor

About the role

The primary purpose of this position is to assist in supervising the day-to-day activities of the Laundry Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility. You will ensure the facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner and that an adequate supply of laundry/linen is on hand at all times to meet the needs of the residents.

Responsibilities

• Report occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals in accordance with the facility’s policies and procedures.
• Ensure that laundry personnel follow established handwashing procedures.
• Ensure that refuse is disposed of daily and in accordance with established sanitation procedures.
• Ensure that laundry personnel follow established policies governing the use/disposal of personal protective equipment and disposal of infectious wastes.
• Coordinate routine/terminal isolation procedures with nursing service.
• Conduct daily inspections of assigned work areas to assure cleanliness and sanitary conditions are maintained.
• Perform other duties as may become necessary/appropriate to assure the laundry department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.

Requirements

• Successful completion of a background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
