About the role

Under the general direction of the EVS Manager, primary responsibilities include overseeing the overall housekeeping department and ensuring that the facility and resident apartments are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the highest quality of customer service is available for residents
  • Engage in prospective resident visits
  • Perform welcome orientation with new residents
  • Work with the EVS Manager to recruit and hire qualified housekeeping staff, including proper orientation and training
  • Responsible for knowing all information in the employee handbook
  • Responsible for department staff schedules and work assignments
  • Verify staff are in proper uniforms daily
  • Order housekeeping supplies and monitor inventory
  • Schedule the rotation of weekly cleaning of resident rooms and daily cleaning of common areas and bathrooms
  • Supervise department staff, including job performance reviews
  • Clean resident apartments, including vacuuming, mopping, disinfecting, dusting, emptying trash, making beds and linen service where applicable
  • Provide personal laundry service where applicable
  • Maintain cleanliness of the entire building
  • Monitor public restrooms throughout the day for cleanliness and adequate supplies
  • Maintain regulatory compliance where applicable
  • Transport trash and waste to disposal area
  • Note areas or articles in need of repair and report to EVS Manager
  • Schedule and oversee common area Spring and Fall deep clean
  • Proficiency with software applications/programs/tools used by Mission Point Healthcare Services for the Housekeeping Supervisor position
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or NHA

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Interview, hire, train, supervise and conduct annual reviews for housekeepers
  • Perform employee retraining, counseling sessions and implement disciplinary action as necessary
  • Prepare staff work schedules and review employee timecards for accuracy and approval

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • Three years of experience in a comparable position including supervision of staff and administrative responsibility

Skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to plan, direct and coordinate and implement overall maintenance and security programs
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations and standards applicable to facility operations
  • Experience managing employees
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Basic computer knowledge required

Other Special Requirements

  • Eye/hand coordination sufficient to use small and large tools and machinery, hammer and nail, power drill and screwdriver
  • Tolerate frequent exposure to blood, body tissues and fluids with occasional exposure to hazardous materials and infectious diseases, as well as frequent exposure to chemicals and latex and plastic materials used for personal protective equipment
  • Manual dexterity required to operate modern office equipment
  • Ability to travel as needed or assigned
