About the Role

As the Housekeeping Supervisor, you are responsible for the daily supervision of the housekeeping staff, ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction, and safety. You will supervise cleaning and assist in the administration of housekeeping services in compliance with policies, procedures, brand standards, and federal, state, and local regulations. Prompt reporting of emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items, and safety hazards to management is required. You will also report any deviations from policies, procedures, brand standards, and regulations.

You will ensure compliance with all guest service basics, such as uniforms, name tags, and proper guest greeting. Knowledge of all hotel facilities and services is essential to assist guests as required.

Responsibilities

  • Complete the opening and closing of the housekeeping department
  • Create daily boards/work assignments for the housekeeping team
  • Supervise the housekeeping team to ensure quality and standards are upheld
  • Inspect all departure and stayover cleans for the day, ensuring inspection checklists are completed
  • Oversee the housemen to ensure all guest requests and assigned tasks are completed
  • Responsible for hiring new department team members
  • Oversee the training of all new housekeeping team members
  • Complete on-the-job training with all team members to ensure standards are upheld
  • Conduct coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions as required
  • Arrange staff work schedules, determine days off, and ensure staffing levels align with occupancy and projects
  • Submit payroll records, correcting errors to ensure timely and accurate pay
  • Maintain and review computerized records for budgeting, forecasting department expenses, and inspection scores
  • Assist the Executive Housekeeper with weekly, monthly, and annual inventories
  • Ensure the security of all department inventory
  • Coordinate daily with the front desk and management to ensure clear communication
  • Respond to guest requests or complaints efficiently and professionally
  • Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, to provide direction to staff and management
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by management

Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of housekeeping experience in a related field (hospitality preferred)
  • Previous housekeeping responsibilities for up to 14 rooms a day
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Maintain current licensure in the service area
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid Florida Driver’s license and good driving record
  • Pass pre-employment testing (e.g., drug test, background check)
  • Full availability to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English (multi-lingual preferred)

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, including in intense or inclement weather conditions
  • Physical abilities (less than 6 hours per day): reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, pushing, grasping, walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, running, sitting, climbing, and overhead reaching
  • Ability to frequently (less than 8 hours per day) lift up to 100 pounds to chest height
  • Ability to frequently immerse hands in water and chemical solutions
