Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervises and trains staff in the performance of Housekeeping tasks in all areas of the University (Residence Halls, classrooms, offices, auditoriums, restrooms, public spaces and some outdoor areas).
- Evaluates, inspects and monitors Housekeeping staff performance.
- Fills in for staff members as needed to perform Housekeeping duties.
- Maintains the R25 system for University events and the SXU Service Request system on a daily basis.
- Trains staff on the use of and operates all Housekeeping equipment.
- Performs minor maintenance and repairs on Housekeeping equipment.
- Inspects buildings for damage and reports conditions by submitting work orders.
- Requests and stocks disposable products such as soap and paper towels.
- Moves furniture and other items in Residence Halls and University spaces by hand or using appropriate moving devices.
- Assigns staff members to and performs set-ups for other University functions.
- Inspects Housekeeping assigned closets and equipment checking for a neat, clean and safe working condition.
- Participates in the removal of snow and ice from stairways and walkways around buildings.
- Along with staff, salts stairways and walkways.
Qualifications
- A High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Minimum of three (3) years of janitorial, housekeeping, and/or building maintenance experience.
- One (1) year experience in a lead or supervisory capacity desirable.
