About the role
Envision Unlimited, founded in 1948 in Chicago, provides a full spectrum of care for individuals with disabilities ranging in age from infancy to 80+. Our innovative services span Chicagoland and Central Illinois and include community living, day programs, behavioral health, employment services, family respite, foster care, and supportive housing.
We are currently hiring part-time Housekeeping staff to ensure our sites remain clean and welcoming environments. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Responsibilities
- Keep the building and surrounding area neat, clean, and free of observable safety hazards at all times.
- Clean, sanitize, and deodorize restrooms and program spaces.
- Replenish soap and paper supplies as needed.
- Sweep and vacuum carpets and floors on a daily basis.
- Empty waste cans, recycle bins, and other trash receptacles daily.
- Clean woodwork, walls, and windows using common household equipment and cleaning products.
- Sweep sidewalks and entrance areas in the front, back, and sides of the building daily, weather permitting.
- Keep equipment and supplies in order and request re-supply when needed.
- Complete grounds keeping requests as directed by supervisor and/or division director.
- Attend all required agency training and scheduled outside training when available.
- Maintain a professional demeanor in dress and conduct during all programmatic and work-related events.
- Maintain attendance and punctuality in accordance with agency policies.
- Demonstrate sensitivity and responsiveness to the diverse service populations of the agency, including individuals with disabilities and/or mental health issues.
- Promptly report all hazardous or unsafe building conditions to supervisors and complete necessary documentation.
- Attend departmental/division team meetings and individual supervision as scheduled.
- Accept and perform additional duties as assigned by the Site Operations Manager and/or division director.
- Perform duties in a manner consistent with the agency’s mission and administrative policies.
Requirements
- 2 years’ work experience preferred.
- High School diploma or GED is a plus.
- Must have reliable transportation for weekly travel.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.

Pay
$17.05 per hour.
