About the Role

This position is responsible for overall housekeeping operations and ensures the cleanliness of hotel rooms and public areas. Uses leadership skills to drive revenue, maximize profit, and ensure quality. Effective management of assigned staff to achieve overall financial results, guest satisfaction, and positive employee relations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the overall finances of the housekeeping department and maximize hotel profitability.
  • Manage expenses, including labor through proper scheduling, monitoring, and adjusting based on business needs.
  • Control supply costs by negotiating and reviewing with vendors and safeguarding existing supplies.
  • Follow CSM procurement guidelines and apply good business judgment.
  • Assist with the preparation and management of the department budget.
  • Manage and maintain company assets to stay within budget guidelines and prolong the life of company resources.
  • Ensure sufficient room inventory is available and cleaned to maximize revenue.
  • Accountable for guest satisfaction by providing quality room cleanliness and room supplies.
  • Respond to guest concerns or requests in a timely, courteous, and friendly manner, focusing on service recovery when applicable.
  • Work side by side with staff to train and model appropriate guest service standards.
  • Achieve business revenue goals by developing and implementing service programs within the housekeeping department to increase guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct routine inspections of housekeeping operations to maintain standards per CSM, local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date Material Safety Data Sheets to ensure proper procedures when using chemicals.
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment and follow all CSM procedures for guest/employee incidents.
  • Evaluate staff performance and take appropriate corrective action to hold employees accountable.
  • Motivate staff by setting goals, providing ongoing feedback, and rewarding/recognizing employees.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, coaching, and development of all employees.
  • Maintain training records and ensure all required training for department employees is completed.
  • Analyze quality issues, identify training needs, and implement improvements.
  • Promote collaboration and a positive, professional work environment.
  • Attend all daily, weekly, and/or monthly department/hotel meetings to ensure proper communication and planning.
  • Use expertise to advise and implement changes to housekeeping operations as needed.
  • Responsible for all housekeeping/laundry initiatives and meeting productivity standards at the hotel level.
  • Adhere to all CSM Standard Operating Procedures.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of progressive housekeeping management experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required; college degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with strong communication skills for all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Ability to problem-solve with employees and guests.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and tight deadlines.
  • Bilingual ability preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 pounds on a regular basis throughout the shift.
  • Significant bending required.

Pay

$58,000–$65,000 per year.

Schedule

Full time; Sundays are required.
