Responsibilities
- Supervise, direct, and assist Room Attendants, Lobby Attendants, and Housepersons in maintaining guest rooms, corridors, and public spaces to Driftwood’s high cleanliness standards.
- Visually inspect VIP rooms, guest rooms, and corridors for cleanliness and appearance.
- Train and monitor the performance of room attendants and housepersons.
- Provide organization, instruction, guidance, communication, and counseling; exercise good judgment.
- Ensure all tasks are completed within the shift.
- Maintain clean, neat, and stocked housekeeping carts and linen/supply closets according to departmental guidelines.
- Ensure all VIP supplies are in place upon inspection of VIP rooms.
- Report maintenance deficiencies in guest rooms and corridors.
- Expedite special guest requests (e.g., extra towels, blankets, or pillows).
- Check all vacant, ready, stay-over, and out-of-order rooms daily.
- Identify showrooms for the Sales Department.
- Turn in all lost and found items and guest room keys.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety, and security procedures.
- Follow fire prevention and emergency procedures; utilize protective equipment.
- Report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, near-misses, or property damage to management.
- Ensure a safe work environment and maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance for all team members.
- Perform related duties as requested by management and assist other Housekeeping Personnel when needed.
Requirements
- High school education preferred.
- Minimum six months of supervisory experience or one year of comparable housekeeping experience.
- Ability to read and write basic English to complete forms such as room status reports.
- Ability to provide clear direction, instruction, and guidance to subordinates.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Ability to exercise judgment and implement control over the performance of subordinates.
- Ability to provide information and answer questions from hotel guests and colleagues.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift, reach, bend, stoop, stand, and walk continuously.
- Pushing heavy carts and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds maximum.
- Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
- Stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often for long periods.
