About the role

As a Lobby Attendant, you will maintain the cleanliness and presentation of all public spaces, ensuring a welcoming environment for guests and associates.

Responsibilities

  • Receive assignments, priority requests, keys, and supplies from Housekeeping management.
  • Review assignments and stock caddie/cart with necessary supplies for cleaning.
  • Turn in keys, properly store and secure caddie/cart, and unused supplies at the end of shift.
  • Walk all assigned spaces at the beginning and end of shift to remove trash, newspapers, and note areas requiring immediate attention.
  • Clean assigned public areas, including dusting, polishing, vacuuming, glass cleaning, and trash removal.
  • Clean and stock public restrooms and elevators.
  • Perform quality checks on public space televisions, telephones, and lamps.
  • Clean offices as assigned.
  • Use cleaning equipment and supplies appropriately and safely.
  • Report emergencies, injuries, missing articles, damage, mechanical problems, and safety hazards to management promptly.
  • Turn in lost-and-found items to Housekeeping management.
  • Perform duties of Houseperson, Room Attendant, or Laundry Attendant as needed.
  • Attend department meetings as scheduled.
  • Maintain punctuality, proper uniform, and a professional, positive attitude when interacting with guests and associates.
  • Report guest dissatisfaction or unusual incidents to management for corrective action.
  • Comply with all hotel policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Write shift reports, including incidents of theft, accidents, or injuries when assigned.
  • Check with manager/supervisor before leaving the work area.
  • Participate in task forces, committees, and special projects as requested.
  • Perform any other tasks/duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school education or one plus years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred.
  • Ability to provide friendly guest service and comply with cleaning techniques and brand standards.
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment (vacuum, mop, etc.) and public space equipment (lamps, TVs, phones).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and efficient time management.
  • Professional attitude, effective communication, and active listening skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while remaining flexible.
  • Ability to satisfy legal employment requirements within the jurisdiction.

Working Conditions & Physical Effort

  • Physical work is a primary part of the job, performed in an interior hotel environment with exposure to equipment, extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
  • Requires extended standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to speak, listen, and have close vision (with or without corrective lenses).
  • Requires adherence to safety precautions and use of protective equipment.
